Every new patient receives a thorough examination and a precise evaluation of his or her oral health to assess current dental condition. Based on your needs, desires and oral health condition, Dr. Galindo will advise you of your treatment options and together you will decide which treatment is best for you. He will allow enough time to thoroughly discuss your treatment needs and concerns, as he feels that understanding these is a critical component of helping you achieve your dental goals. He will discuss different treatment options and recommendations for restoring your mouth. The clinical exam consists of the following: intraoral X-rays (essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss; x-rays also help determine tooth and root positions) , oral cancer screening (check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer) , periodontal assessment (check the gums and bone around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease), and diagnostic impressions of your teeth (all tooth surfaces will be checked for decay; teeth with fillings, crowns or other restorations will also be inspected) . In addition, pre-operatory photographs will be taken for an aesthetic analysis. At a following treatment planning conference, Dr. Galindo will discuss your different treatment options, involved costs, payment methods and approximate time frame. You are encouraged to bring other family members and previous photographs at this appointment. |
