COSMETIC DENTISTRY:

Before
This 36-year-old business man was concerned about the appearance of his upper incisors and canines. Through the years, he had these teeth restored with fillings and crowns. When he presented to the office, the fillings had come lose from his teeth and he did not like the appearance of the crowns. In addition, his lower front teeth were stained and decayed.

After
After thorough examination and planning, including aesthetic imaging and a diagnostic wax-up, the performed treatment consisted of tooth-whitening, a composite resin filling on his lower right central incisor and six ceramic crowns on his upper front teeth (central and lateral incisors and canines).

Before
This 63-year-old woman wanted to improve the appearance of her smile. Her upper teeth had been restored at different stages of her life and now are discolored and others have mismatching colored-restorations. She presented to the office wanting to rejuvenate her smile.

After
After diagnosis and treatment planning, her upper teeth were restored with all-ceramic crowns, bridges and veneers and porcelain-fused-to metal crowns. Her makeover rendered a pleasing younger looking smile

IMPLANT DENTISTRY:

Before
This 63-year-old female had a long history of failing periodontal and restorative dentistry. Her upper teeth had been restored several times with crowns and bridges, yet her periodontal condition was never under control and she kept losing both bone and teeth. The situation in the lower arch was similar. She did not want to wear complete dentures after her failing dentition was removed.

Treatment
After thorough examination and several consultations and treatment planning sessions, she had all her upper and lower teeth removed because of hopeless prognosis. Following bone augmentation procedures, 8 implants were placed in the upper jaw and 7 were place in the lower jaw. Implants would both help secure her final prostheses and preserve bone in her jaws.

After
After the implants had healed for an appropriate period of time, upper and lower fixed - permanent - porcelain-fused-to metal bridges were fabricated and secured over the implants. This treatment allowed her to enjoy life with permanent bridges. Her masticatory function and aesthetics were properly restored.

Before
This 55-year-old active adult had a long history of failing dental treatment. His teeth had been restored several times with crowns and bridges, but were affected by both recurrent decay and periodontal disease. Following consultation with the periodontist, he was treatment planned for extraction of his failing dentition and placement of 3 dental implants in the lower jaw to secure an implant denture. His upper arch would be restored with a conventional upper denture.

Treatment
At the time of teeth extraction, 3 dental implants were placed on the lower arch and allowed to heal. After proper healing time, attachments were connected to the implants to allow for denture retention.

After
An upper denture and a lower implant overdenture were fabricated. The overdenture snaps on the 3 implant attachments and in this way holds in place during function. The patient had his function restored and is pleased with his aesthetic result.

FULL MOUTH RECONSTRUCTION:

Before
This 37-year-old graduate student suffered traumatic fracture of his mandible ten years ago. Due to an unstable occlusion, his teeth wore down significantly and some began fracturing. In addition, most of them were discolored.

After
Following aesthetic and occlusal evaluation, he was treatment planned for a full-mouth reconstruction with all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to metal and full cast gold crowns. His occlusion was restored to provide maximum occlusal efficiency and protection, while giving him the aesthetic look that he was looking for.

Before
This 22-year-old young adult had a long history of dental neglect. Several of his teeth were lost due to rampant decay and had a very unstable occlusion. While his dental problems began at an early age, he did not want to lose any more of his teeth.

After
After comprehensive evaluation and case planning, including diagnostic casts, diagnostic wax-up and special radiographic imaging, he was referred to the oral and maxillofacial surgeon for extraction of his hopeless teeth and the placement of three dental implants in the lower jaw. His dentition was restored with all-ceramic crowns and bridges on his remaining natural teeth and with porcelain-fused-to metal crowns on his three implants (two on his right and one on his left). Comfort and aesthetics have been restored for years to come, thus improving his quality of life.

Before
This 59-year-old artist had a history of a failing dentition. She had been losing teeth due to decay and fractures and wanted to put things under control to prevent further tooth loss. While some of her teeth had been restored over the years, a comprehensive approach was never taken, contributing to her ongoing dental problems.

After
After evaluation and treatment planning, teeth with a poor prognosis were extracted by the periodontist, who at the same time improved her periodontal environment. Her upper missing teeth were restored with fixed porcelain-fused-to metal bridges and her anterior teeth were restored with both all-ceramic crowns and veneers. She opted to have her lower missing teeth replaced with a removable partial denture. Her masticatory ability was much improved and she is delighted with her new look.

DENTURES:

Before
Both of these patients had been dealing for a long-time with failing dentitions. Both the 56-year-old female and the 54-year-old male had remaining teeth with poor prognosis and had to be extracted. Treatment plan for each of them consisted of conventional upper and lower dentures.

Treatment
At the time of teeth extraction, interim immediate dentures were delivered to allow them to maintain their self-esteem and function. After 8 weeks of healing, procedures for fabrication of new dentures were initiated.

After
Both patients are now enjoying their life with new upper and lower dentures. Both aesthetics and function were restored.
